Mechanical Engineer – Job Description (Industries Qatar)

Core Role

A Mechanical Engineer at IQ is responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintenance, and optimization of industrial mechanical systems within large-scale petrochemical or manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:

Based on IQ-related roles and industrial job patterns:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment

Monitor and improve plant performance and equipment reliability

Troubleshoot mechanical failures to minimize downtime

Work with:

Rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines)

Static equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels)

Review and interpret:

Engineering drawings

Technical specifications:

Coordinate with:

Operations teams

Maintenance teams

Safety (HSE) departments

Ensure compliance with:

Safety standards and industrial regulations

Support projects, upgrades, and system improvements

Skills & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in:

Oil & gas / petrochemical / industrial plants

Knowledge of:

Maintenance strategies (predictive, preventive)

Equipment diagnostics

Industrial systems & processes

Strong problem-solving in high-risk, high-value environments

Job Type: Full-time
