The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer Level II with Worley , you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

  • Completing conceptual and/or detailed mechanical engineering designs of new or revamp/additions to existing facilities.
  • Provide resolution to operational issues based on the Operations experience in Indian context.
  • Developing design basis documents (Design Criteria, Option Studies etc.) and reports.
  • Carrying out calculations, design development and software simulations including providing specifications, datasheets and material requisitions for equipment and packages.
  • Creating, reviewing and revising mechanical deliverables such as equipment lists, equipment layouts, technical data sheets.
  • Preliminary equipment sizing and communication with vendors to ensure selected equipment meets process and system requirements and executing technical bid evaluations.
  • Plot Plan development.
  • Participation in HAZOP and/or HAZID studies and closing out HAZID and HAZOP reports.
  • Preparing Operating Cost Estimate and aid in the development of Capital Cost Estimate.
  • Interfacing and coordination between other discipline engineers and project management staff.
  • Reviewing and applying relevant standards, regulations, codes and guidelines applicable for task, identify areas of deviation or concern.
  • Responsible for working within and following company work procedures, mechanical technical guidelines, quality assurance plans, safety regulations and specific customer/project procedures.
  • Authenticating any of the above mechanical deliverables per the customer requirements.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

  • A Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Operation/plant experience is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous learning.
  • Experience in base metals smelting and refining equipment with emphasis on all major base metals smelting and refining technologies (both Hydrometallurgical and Pyrometallurgical path).
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office software.
  • Experience in using Sidewinder, PV Elite, Belt Stat, and other mechanical design simulation software is considered an asset.
  • Plant experience in Pyrometallurgical / Hydrometallurgical Operations in Indian plants is preferred which will enable to resolve operational issues.
