Mechanical Engineer – Quality Control (QC)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical QC Engineer with strong expertise in quality inspection, testing, and documentation for mechanical systems, components, and fabrication work. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in QC activities, understanding of industry standards, and the ability to ensure that all products and processes meet quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process, final, and incoming inspections for mechanical components, assemblies, and fabricated items.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Perform visual inspection, dimensional checks, and functional testing.
  • Prepare and maintain QC documents, including inspection reports, test reports, calibration records, NCRs, CAPA, etc.
  • Coordinate with production, design, and procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Monitor quality parameters and ensure adherence to ISO, ASME, ASTM, or other industry standards.
  • Inspect welding, machining, fabrication, and assembly activities as required.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support quality audits (internal and external).
  • Ensure proper use of QC tools such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM (if applicable).
  • Maintain strong documentation discipline and improve QC processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Control within manufacturing, fabrication, automotive, industrial machinery, or similar industries.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, material standards, and QC processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and related quality systems.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measurement instruments.
  • Good communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with welding inspection or NDT methods (VT, PT, UT, RT).
  • Knowledge of SAP / ERP for quality module entries.
  • Certification such as QC Inspector / ASNT Level II 3.1.

Work Location

  • Mumbai

(Travel between sites may be required depending on project needs.)
