Job Purpose/Objective
Overall responsibility to ensure the safe planning and execution of all rigging and lifting activities, including engineering calculations and development of lifting plans. Responsible for maintaining all rigging tools & equipment
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
People Management
-
Monitor & supervise the activities and work performed by the Baseload Rigging and Equipment Operator Contractors to ensure work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner, in line with the business plans, and company policies and procedures.

Ensure that Baseload Rigging and Equipment Operator Contractors comply with all company policies, procedures , Standard Maintenance Procedures and Daily Instructions during routine Maintenance and Unit shutdowns.

Supervise contractors during TA's to ensure the safe execution and the completion of the tasks on time.

Ensure that all of the team members are completing their compliance trainings and are up to date on their training certifications, evaluate training requirements for equipment operators & riggers. Use technical expertise to provide clear instruction and guidance to personnel.
Routine Duties

Prepare rigging plans & approve critical lift permit, reviewing contractor rigging plan

Optimize costs by selection of proper cranes and manage lifting and rigging equipment

Support emergency, planned SD's and TA related maintenance activities.

Lead JSA's for critical lifts, ensure inspection of all lifting and rigging equipment is completed in a timely manner and ensure proper inventory of all lifting and rigging equipment.

Create material master for critical spare parts (consumable) and fast moving items

Follow up with 3rd party for inspection, testing and certification of cranes, elevators and any applicable lifting equipment.

Implement and complete follow up action items from Action tracker / Reliability improvement team recommendations / QSAFE action items in timely manner.

Take part in Internal/External & field audits as assigned and to complete audit action items before due dates.

Inspect incoming equipment spares / material in material warehouse by using of relevant technical document like OEM manual/drawing etc.

Adhere to and follow all company safety policies, procedures and Tenets of Operation.

Understand the concept of Proactive safety and take personal responsibility to eliminate at risk behaviours and conditions in order to positively contribute to overall goal of zero incidents

Understand the Q-Safe process and actively participate in accordance with expectations.

Conduct daily Toolbox meetings and Monthly Safety Communication Meetings in order to discuss HSE issues with the team.

Conduct walk-downs and audits to ensure all work is performed safely. Coordinate efforts to correct discrepancies.
Reporting
-
Communicate with the superintendent to inform on issues that require additional support.

Prepare and report in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet the Departmental requirements, policies and standards.

Report all HSE related events and near misses on time per Q-Chem policies and procedures.
-
Perform investigations, determine root cause and assign necessary action items. Write Root Cause Failure Analysis Reports.

Maintain proper records of all corrective / preventive maintenance jobs.
Qatarization

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
Required :
Engineering Degree (Bachelor) in Mechanical or Civil
Experience
Required
: At least 5 years of experience in Rigging and Lifting. Should have advanced skills in performing the Engineering Static Lifting calculations.
Preferred
: At least 8 years of experience in O&G Industry

Competent Rigger level II or equivalent

Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
