Mechanical Fitter

Job Overview
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am - 3:00pm

We are looking for hands-on Mechanical Fitters to join our team working on the servicing, repair, and refurbishment of industrial equipment.

This is not a production line or purely assembly role; we are looking for individuals who are confident working with tools, stripping down machinery, carrying out repairs, and rebuilding equipment to a high standard.

You will be based in a workshop environment with some involvement in site-based work, supporting industrial clients across sectors such as energy, heavy industry, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain a range of industrial equipment and machinery
• Strip down, inspect, and rebuild mechanical components
• Carry out fault finding and basic diagnostics
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications
• Support refurbishment, fabrication, and modification work
• Assist with blasting, painting, and finishing processes (where required)
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping

Training Provided:

Full training will be provided on equipment assembly, servicing techniques, and workshop practices.

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanical fitting / maintenance experience (workshop or site-based)
• Background in industrial environments, plant maintenance, or engineering services
• Experience with servicing machinery or equipment (not just assembly)
• Ability to use hand and power tools confidently
• Comfortable working as part of a team or independently

Highly Desirable

• Experience with companies such as Bilfinger or similar
• Welding or fabrication experience
• Experience with blasting and painting / surface preparation
• Knowledge of pumps, valves, or rotating equipment
