Mechanical Fitter & Welder

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter & Welder to perform installation, maintenance, repair, and fabrication works related to mechanical systems and equipment within facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical assets through preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out fitting, fabrication, welding, and repair works on mechanical equipment, piping systems, structural components, and facility assets.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication sketches.
• Conduct cutting, grinding, welding, and assembly of metal components as required.
• Inspect mechanical equipment and identify defects, wear, or maintenance requirements.
• Assist in the installation, modification, and replacement of mechanical equipment and piping systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Prepare maintenance records and report completed works to the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• ITI Certificate or 1-Year Professional Trade Course Certificate in Fitter, Welding, or a related trade.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the service sector, maintenance, or facilities management environment.
• Proficiency in arc welding, gas welding, cutting, grinding, and mechanical fitting works.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and maintenance instructions.
• Experience in healthcare facilities maintenance will be an added advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with pumps, valves, piping systems, and mechanical equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and welding standards.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a maintenance environment.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• mechanical welder and fitter: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• ITI certification (Preferred)
