The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for site inspection, monitoring, and reporting of all mechanical works related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and utilities. The role ensures that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and safety requirements. The candidate must be available to join immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out daily site inspections of mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting, pumping stations, etc.).
- Verify installation works against approved drawings, method statements, and specifications.
- Review material submittals, shop drawings, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor contractors’ quality of work and report non-conformities (NCRs, site observations).
- Ensure compliance with local authority standards and codes of practice.
- Check and witness testing & commissioning of mechanical systems.
- Maintain daily logs, inspection reports, and proper documentation.
- Coordinate with the contractor, client, and other disciplines on site issues.
- Support the Resident Engineer in ensuring the project is executed safely, on time, and to the required quality.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in site inspection of mechanical works (consultant/supervision background preferred).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utilities.
- Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.) and local authority regulations.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Must be available to join immediately.
- UPDA/MME certification (for Qatar projects) is an advantage
