Position: Mechanical Lab Technician
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEM’s globally. Our global headquarters is in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally.
The Mechanical Lab Technician will participate in the development of unique and/or proprietary high-speed custom cable assemblies which will integrate into the customer’s system. These products are developed in response to specific customer application needs.
Role & Responsibilities

Wire Processing:
-
Operate and maintain a wire cut-to-length machine

Accurately measure and cut a variety of wire types and gauges

Perform basic quality control to ensure precision and consistency

3D Printing:
-
Operate Resin and FDM 3D printers to create mechanical parts and prototypes
-
Prepare STL files, slice models, and manage print settings
-
Post-process printed parts (e.g., cleanup, light sanding, assembly).

CNC Laser Operation:

Operate CNC laser cutter for cutting and engraving acrylic sheets

Interpret DXF and vector files for machine use

Ensure safe operation and perform routine maintenance

Cable Mockup Assembly:

Build and assemble mechanical and electrical cable mockups based on engineering drawings and customer requirements

Use hand tools, crimpers, heat shrink, and other materials to create professional-quality prototypes

Label and package samples for shipment or presentation.

Lab Support & Maintenance:

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area

Track and order lab supplies and materials as needed
-
Support engineers in prototyping and mechanical test setup as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or associate degree in a mechanical or manufacturing-related field preferred

2+ years of hands-on experience in a prototyping lab or manufacturing environment

Familiarity with 3D printers, CNC laser cutters, and wire processing tools

Comfortable use of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Basic computer literacy (email, CAD file handling, slicer software, machine interfaces)

Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools

Understanding of cable assemblies and interconnect components

Familiarity with safety practices in a lab or light manufacturing environment

Extended periods of standing, bending, or reaching while operating equipment

Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone, requires the ability to hear and speak effectively on phone.

This is a full-time position working at the Santa Clara Office. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
