Job Summary

As a Mechanical Maintenance Executive, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of all plant equipment in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. You will support preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize equipment uptime.

* Key Responsibilities

*Maintenance Planning & Execution

Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance for all mechanical equipment (mixers, fryers, conveyors, packaging machines, bearings, gearboxes, etc.).

Perform routine inspections, alignments, adjustments, and calibrations to ensure smooth equipment operation.

Develop daily/weekly maintenance schedules in coordination with production planning.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

Diagnose mechanical faults effectively and recommend corrective actions.

Lead breakdown response teams to resolve issues quickly with minimal production interruption.

Maintain records of repair history and suggest improvements to avoid recurrence.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain maintenance logs, job cards, spares usage records, and equipment history.

Prepare reports on maintenance activities, downtime causes, spare requirements, and improvements.

Monitor KPIs such as MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).

Spare Parts & Inventory Control

Coordinate with stores and procurement to maintain adequate levels of spare parts.

Identify obsolete, slow-moving, and critical spares for reorder or replacement.

Ensure proper tagging and storage of mechanical components in engineering stores.

Team Coordination

Collaborate with electrical, maintenance technicians, production, and engineering teams.

Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to fitters and junior maintenance staff.

Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

*Safety & Quality

Follow and enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.

Ensure adherence to quality standards during maintenance activities.

Suggest and implement improvements for safer and more reliable operations.

Qualifications & Skills

*Education

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Maintenance or related.

Certifications in maintenance planning, TPM, or reliability maintenance (desired).

Experience

Minimum 3–7+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within FMCG / Food Processing / Manufacturing industries.

Hands-on experience with production equipment maintenance is preferred.

Technical Skills

Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.

Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.

Knowledge of bearings, couplings, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

Proficient in maintenance management systems (CMMS/ERP) and MS Office.

Soft Skills

Good communication and leadership skills.

Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive.

Excellent planning and organizational ability.

Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
