DESCRIPTION
As part of a formal skilled trades training program, assists site Mechanical skilled trades to learn and develop mechanical skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance. Apprentice will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on the job training hours. Learns and understand the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Technical Operations
- Handle breakdown and preventive maintenance of General Purpose and Special Purpose Machines.
- Perform root cause analysis of breakdowns using daily logs.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical and electronic issues.
- Maintain and plan critical spare parts inventory.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely service completion.
- Lead critical maintenance projects within stipulated timelines.
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct Job Safety Assessments including LOTO and other safe work practices.
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with HSE standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment and promote safety culture.
Quality & Process Improvement
- Support equipment uptime and failure analysis.
- Provide feedback for preventive maintenance systems.
- Participate in TPM and continuous improvement activities.
- Perform quality inspections and follow process documentation.
Training & Development
- Attend required classes and complete on-the-job training hours.
- Learn and apply high standards of workmanship.
- Communicate effectively with team members and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in or completion of a formal skilled trades training program.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Skills
Technical Skills
- Strong fundamentals in hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine mechanics.
