Job Title: Mechanical Product Design Engineer – ITS

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Product Design Engineer to join our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) product development team. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical enclosures, housings, and components for ITS devices such as Single Control Units (SCUs), Passenger Information Systems, Vehicle-Mounted Equipment, and other transport-related products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components, sheet metal enclosures, and assemblies for ITS products.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (electronics, PCB design, thermal, and industrial design) to create robust and reliable product housings.
  • Create and review 2D/3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Ensure compliance with standards related to transportation electronics (IP ratings, vibration/shock, thermal management, EMC).
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation of mechanical parts.
  • Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) inputs to ensure cost-effective production.
  • Collaborate with vendors for tooling, fabrication, and production of mechanical parts.
  • Document design changes, engineering calculations, and support certification requirements. Required Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3D Design tools.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal design, plastic part design, and enclosure development.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, sealing (IP65/IP67), and vibration resistance for transport applications.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (CNC, injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication, die-casting).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
  • Experience in ITS domain products (SCU, PIS, PoE enclosures, VMS, etc.).
  • Exposure to vehicle integration and mounting design.
  • Understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics packaging and cable routing.
