Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience on high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate will be DEWA-approved and adept at managing the mechanical scope from design through commissioning, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Coordination
• Review and interpret MEP drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Develop detailed mechanical execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to integrate all services seamlessly.
• Design & Technical Review
• Validate mechanical system designs (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting) for high-rise applications.
• Ensure compliance with DEWA regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA).
• Procurement & Vendor Management
• Prepare technical submittals, RFQs, and evaluate vendor proposals.
• Oversee manufacturer and supplier approvals; manage material inspections and delivery schedules.
• On-Site Supervision & Quality Control
• Supervise installation works, conduct regular site inspections, and ensure adherence to approved drawings.
• Implement robust quality assurance checks and document non-conformances with corrective action plans.
• Commissioning & Handover
• Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, coordinate with testing agencies.
• Compile O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and facilitate smooth handover to client/operations team.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports, cost-control updates, and risk assessments.
• Liaise with DEWA for approvals, load connections, and energy metering.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience on high-rise building MEP projects in the UAE.
• DEWA-approved Engineer (valid DEWA Engineer ID).
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Project/Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of local codes: DEWA regulations, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, ASHRAE standards.
