Mechanical Project Engineer

We are MEP Company based in Abu Dhabi, looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer.

The MEP Mechanical Project Engineer is responsible for the planning, coordination, execution, and commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, fire-fighting, plumbing) in construction projects. They ensure that all mechanical works are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and local authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision & Execution: Supervise installation of HVAC systems (VRF, DX, Chilled Water), ventilation systems (AHU, FAHU, Exhaust), and piping on-site.
• Technical Coordination: Coordinate mechanical services with civil, electrical, and interior design teams to avoid conflicts (clash detection).
• Shop Drawings & Submittals: Prepare, review, and submit HVAC shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for consultant approval.
• Quality Control & Safety: Perform regular site inspections to ensure installations meet Quality Control Procedures (QCP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards.
• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and document the testing of mechanical systems (pressure tests, balancing, commissioning) for final handover.
• Project Management & Reporting: Monitor progress against project schedules, prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), and manage material deliveries.
• Authority Liaison: Coordinate with local authority inspectors for approvals and site inspections.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 7-10 years of experience in MEP contracting, construction, or fit-out projects.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and local building codes.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory), MS Office, and HVAC design tools (e.g., HAP).
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and leadership skills to manage subcontractors.
• Driving License: Valid UAE/Local driving license is highly preferred.
