About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
SME – Mechanical
to lead Mechanical & HVAC Operations and Maintenance for our mission-critical Data Center facility. The ideal candidate will be a specialist in mechanical and cooling systems for large-scale critical environments and possess strong expertise in maintaining mechanical systems along with working knowledge of electrical infrastructure.
Qualifications

BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
with
12+ years
of experience; OR

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
with
12+ years
of experience

Strong background in Mechanical & HVAC Operations, Maintenance, and Data Center environments
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives
-
Develop, maintain, and standardize facility procedures and documentation
-
Collaborate with Project, Construction & Engineering teams
-
Develop and implement comprehensive O&M plans
-
Conduct regular Data Center capacity planning
-
Contribute to CAMC contracts and Scope of Work finalization
-
Drive system upgrades and performance-improvement initiatives
-
Manage outsourced manpower and third-party vendors effectively
Operations Excellence
-
Manage HVAC infrastructure for mission-critical Data Center operations
-
Maintain 100% HVAC uptime and meet high-standard SLAs
-
Lead Project HOTO processes for mechanical systems
-
Perform performance benchmarking, analysis, and identify improvement opportunities
-
Respond effectively to emergency situations
-
Ensure compliance with HSE, OSHA, ASHRAE, TIA-942 and other relevant guidelines

Read and interpret technical drawings (MEP)

Prioritize and manage multiple critical tasks in a fast-paced environment
Customer & Stakeholder Management

Maintain transparent, timely communication with leadership

Handle customer visits and technical queries

Risk Management

Act as the primary contact for statutory, regulatory & technical compliance related to mechanical systems
Availability Management

Ensure 24×7×365 uptime of Data Center mechanical infrastructure

Maintain system redundancy and reliability
Maintenance Management
-
Lead energy and cooling optimization initiatives
-
Prepare and execute maintenance schedules for utility systems
Contracts Management
-
Manage vendor relations and evaluate vendor/sub-vendor performance
-
Review AMC & SLA for mechanical equipment
-
Coordinate with manpower-deployment agencies
Systems & Equipment Exposure
-
HVAC Systems:
PAHU, AHUs, Air-/Water-cooled Chillers (Centrifugal/Screw), Cooling Towers, Pumps, Piping, Chemical Filters, Water Mist Systems, Exhaust/Fresh Air Fans, Cranes, etc.

Emergency Power:
Diesel Generator sets (160 KVA – 3000 KVA)

Automation & Safety Systems:
BMS, WLD, VESDA, Rodent Repellent, Fire Detection & Suppression, CCTV, Access Control, Elevators, Electrical Systems
General Responsibilities

Conduct root-cause analysis for mechanical/HVAC failures

Prepare MIS and HVAC performance reports
-
Manage day-to-day operations and shift scheduling
-
Oversee preventive maintenance activities
-
Troubleshoot system issues and lead controlled shutdowns without service impact

Support internal and external audits
-
Manage end-to-end Data Center operations for mechanical infrastructure
Other Requirements

Knowledge of
OSS, SAP PM & MM modules
