The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for supervising mechanical installation, assembly, maintenance, and commissioning activities at site or shop floor. The role ensures work is executed as per drawings, quality standards, safety norms, and project timelines while coordinating with technicians, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervision & Execution
- Supervise mechanical installation, assembly, and alignment of machines, fixtures, structures, and automation systems.
- Ensure work execution as per approved drawings, specifications, and SOPs.
- Allocate daily tasks to technicians and monitor progress.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure adherence to safety norms, PPE usage, and site safety protocols.
- Maintain quality standards during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
- Identify and rectify mechanical issues during execution.
Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate with electrical, automation, and software teams for integrated execution.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers at site.
- Plan manpower, tools, and material requirements.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily progress reports (DPR), work completion reports, and checklists.
- Report deviations, risks, and delays to project management.
- Support FAT, SAT, and customer inspections.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Handle breakdowns, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper handover after commissioning.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings and GD&T
- Hands-on experience in machine assembly, automation systems, conveyors, fixtures
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, drives, and fasteners
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards
- Ability to lead and manage technicians
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–8 years of relevant experience (project/site supervision preferred)
Preferred Experience (Good to Have)
- Experience in industrial automation, robotics, or machine vision systems
- Exposure to OEM machine building or system integrators
- Experience working at customer sites
Work Conditions
- Site-based role with frequent travel as per project requirements
- May involve extended working hours during installation and commissioning
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
