The candidate will support the Dragonfly Mass Spectrometer (DraMS) project at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. The candidate will work with senior engineers and project leads to develop detailed designs and drawings of the structures and mounts required to structurally secure the laser, plumbing, harnessing, capillary lines, and other DraMS components onto the main housing and primary structure. Additionally, the candidate will support mechanical design reviews, attend subsystem design and development meetings, write and implement build and test procedures, assist with the development of high-level DraMS mechanical plans and mechanisms and electronics housing development.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years’ experience working on mechanical systems, preferably in aerospace. Ideally, the candidate will have existing knowledge of the DraMS project and working experience at GSFC.

The candidate must possess a keen understanding of and experience with CAD software, standard computer spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software packages. Excellent written and communication skills are required.
