Mechanical Technician-cooling, Fitjar

atNorth is expanding in Fitjar, Iceland and looking for professionals to work in our pioneering data center. atNorth is the leading operator of data center infrastructure in the Nordics and the decarbonization partner of choice. We are now looking to assemble a team for this exciting expansion project.

atNorth is seeking skilled cooling engineers, mechanics, or aircraft mechanics to join our team in Fitjar.

This is a permanent, full-time position suitable for all genders.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

You will be responsible for cooling equipment for AI clusters and powerful GPU networks with air and water cooling in our data center in Fitjar. You will also maintain backup power for the equipment. Our data centers need to be ice-cold and lightning-fast.

Your tasks will include

  • Installing water and air cooling systems for data center equipment
  • Operating and maintaining water and air cooling systems
  • Maintaining backup power
  • Connecting and configuring control equipment
  • Programming and testing industrial computers
  • Ensuring safety and promoting best work practices

Education and Qualifications

To be considered you must have knowledge and experience working with water and air cooling systems. Education in mechanical engineering, marine engineering, mechanical maintenance, or cooling technology is highly beneficial. We enjoy working with people who have good knowledge but also a strong desire to be part of a team that adopts new skills and tries new things.

  • Education relevant to the operation of mechanical equipment
  • Strong proficiency in English, both reading and writing
  • Ability to work well in a team and enjoy working with colleagues
  • The ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Improvement mindset, safety awareness, and service orientation
  • Clean criminal record
