Mechanical Technician – Wind Energy Projects

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wind turbine mechanical components such as gearboxes, yaw systems, braking systems, and rotor assemblies.
  
• Inspect turbine towers, nacelles, blades, and mechanical structures for wear, damage, or misalignment.
  
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults in turbines including hydraulic, braking, and drive train systems .
  
• Replace or repair faulty components such as bearings, shafts, couplings, and hydraulic systems .
  
• Conduct routine lubrication, torque checks, and alignment of mechanical equipment.
  
• Assist engineers during installation, commissioning, and major component replacement .
  
• Maintain proper documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  
• Ensure all work is performed according to OEM guidelines and safety procedures .
  
• Work at heights while climbing turbine towers and performing maintenance inside nacelles.
  
• Follow strict HSE and lockout/tag out (LOTO) procedures .
  
  
  
  

Requirements

· Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Technology

· 3–7 years experience in wind turbine maintenance /power generation projects

· Knowledge of gearboxes, hydraulic systems, bearings and turbine mechanical systems

· Experience with OEM turbines such as Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, GE, Nordex

· Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
