Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Testing Services Manager to lead our destructive testing operation, which supports the welding qualification process. Responsibilities
- Consult with customers to understand testing requirements, recommend products/services, processing service orders and related reports, handling inquiries and complaints.
- Manage daily operations of the mechanical testing laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization
- Develop, implement, and maintain standardized testing procedures aligned with industry standards such as ISO-17025, NIST, and standard manufacturing practices
- Supervise laboratory staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of safety and technical proficiency
- Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and validation of testing equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable results
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations and data integrity
- Collect, analyze, and interpret test data; prepare detailed reports per customer requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, safety protocols, and testing methodologies
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of weld testing requirements defined in ASME, AWS, API, NAVSEA, MIL-STD and similar fabrication codes and standards.
- Extensive knowledge of laboratory management principles and techniques in mechanical testing (bend, tensile, impact, macro-etch, hardness, etc.)
- Strong understanding of ISO-17025, NIST, and standard manufacturing practices relevant to mechanical testing environments
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent analysis skills with a focus on data collection accuracy and detailed reporting capabilities
- Proven project management skills to coordinate testing schedules, resource planning, and cross-functional department collaboration
