Job Overview
The Mechanic/Fleet Technician performs skilled repairs on light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Perform highest quality repairs and maintenance procedures on all autos, trucks, and off-road vehicles
Coordinate repairs that will accommodate the needs of the maintenance and construction departments.
Adhere to instructions given by the VP or lead Mechanic.
Keep records of time and materials used in each job.
Supply needed information to document all routine and major repairs.
Provide and maintain information needed to maintain a substantial parts inventory under the guidance of the VP.
Inspect and test all shop equipment.
Maintain high standard of quality of all work performed.
Follow proper safety procedures and standards on a regular basis.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year as a mechanic at the journeyman level in the power equipment industry.
Knowledge of light and heavy-duty gasoline and diesel-powered autos, trucks, and off-road equipment.
Demonstrate basic technical knowledge of diagnostics, drivability, and electrical.
Ability to trouble shoot technical repair problems and ability to use computerized or mechanical test and repair equipment.
Possession of a valid class A, or C.D.L. license.
