Job opening: Mechanics Program Peer Support Specialist [Part Time]

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support, case management and skill building to individuals enrolled in treatment services under a peer support model.
  • Learn policies, procedures, and program structure for the Mechanics Program.
  • Work with participants within the Mechanics Program structure
  • Teach mechanic skills appropriate to the project or lesson at hand
  • Supervise and provide support to participants practicing skills
  • Attend at least one peer cohort per month
  • Attend clinical supervision at least once per month (TBD by clinical supervisor)
  • Attend all staff meetings/trainings
  • Learn and use Microsoft Outlook and Teams
  • Schedule all client appointments in Kipu
  • Schedule all work activities (outside of client appointments, notes, and general admin) in Outlook
  • Clock in and out through Gusto
  • Use Teams approval system for new requests (projects, groups, programs, purchases, etc)
  • Use established forms and excel sheets to track progress in projects
  • Enter all client contact notes into Kipu within 3 business days
  • Work with clinical supervisor on language to use in notes to support treatment goals

Pay: $25/hour (part time: 10 hour minimum)

  • Part time work = at least 10 billable client hours per week
  • Full time work = averaging 20 billable client hours per week
  • After 3 months of consistency at 20 billable hours, this position is eligible for salary and benefits

Qualifications and Education Requirements

-Must have up to date Peer support certification

-must have lived experience & recovery in mental health and/or substance use disorder

- Must have proven knowledge & skills around the diagnosis, repair & Maintenance of multiple types of motors

-must be able to work well with others, take direction, and uphold a therapeutic environment for participants

(1) Shall meet the requirements in OAR 410-180-0300 to 0380 for certification and continuing education. 

(a) A Peer Support Specialist and Peer Wellness Specialist shall be: 

(A) A self-identified individual currently or formerly receiving mental health or substance use services; 

(B) A self-identified individual in recovery from a substance use disorder who meets the abstinence requirements for recovering staff in substance use disorders treatment and recovery programs 

(C) A self-identified individual in recovery from problem gambling; or 

(D) A person who has experience parenting a child who: 

(i) Is a current or former recipient of mental health or substance use treatment; or 

(ii) Is facing or has faced difficulties in accessing education and health and wellness services due to a mental health or behavioral health barrier. 

(b) A Peer Support Specialist and Peer Wellness Specialist shall demonstrate: 

(A) The ability to support others in their recovery or resiliency; 

(B) Personal life experience and tools of self-directed recovery and resiliency; and 

(C) Demonstrate cultural responsiveness and effective communication.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
