Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician (Med Tech) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality patient care by assisting with medical procedures, monitoring vital signs, and supporting nursing staff in various care settings. Your expertise will help ensure that residents and patients receive safe, respectful, and personalized care across assisted living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, and home care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist with patient assessments by measuring vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Support medication administration under the supervision of nursing staff, following strict protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory impairments through tailored activities and support strategies.
- Assist with activities of daily living including tube feeding, catheter care, and mobility assistance to promote independence and safety.
- Monitor patients’ physiological responses during treatments and report any concerns promptly to nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures and safety standards in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care in various settings such as hospitals, senior living communities, or home environments.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience in hospital settings or acute care environments is advantageous.
- Demonstrated caregiving experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and medical documentation processes is essential.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
- Experience providing hospice or memory care services enhances your suitability for this role.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols, tube feeding procedures, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring is required.
