Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech Caregiver to provide high-quality medical assistance and personal care to individuals in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. Duties
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility support, and meal preparation to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately and document findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as tube feeding, catheter care, or other medical procedures requiring physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Provide compassionate care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory impairments within memory care or hospice environments.
- Record detailed medical records using EMR systems like Epic or Cerner to ensure accurate tracking of patient progress and treatment plans.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines specific to acute care and home & community settings.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and nursing practices relevant to caregiving roles.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and medical records management.
- Ability to perform complex procedures including medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds while respecting privacy laws like HIPAA.
- Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Knowledge of hospice care principles and senior care best practices to support holistic patient well-being.
