Message to Prospective Staff

A MESSAGE TO PROSPECTIVE CAMP SKYLINE STAFF
OUR MISSION:

Enriching young girls in God, relationships and self.

What does that mean:
Teach girls the importance and joy of developing a close walk with God.
Teach girls how to build strong, positive relationships with others.
Teach girls activity skills while helping them to develop important life skills and positive knowledge of self.
Teach girls the value of unselfishness and the necessity of developing a good character.
OUR BELIEFS:
Founded on Christian principles, Skyline is a non-denominational camp where we endeavor to provide a strong Christian atmosphere for our girls. We believe in one God, His word the Bible, and what it teaches. We believe that all scripture is inspired by God, and is our final authority for faith and life. We believe in a pattern of living exemplified by Christ, God’s Son.
OUR POLICIES:
Everything a counselor says or does, on or off camp grounds, reflects back onto Camp Skyline. We simply ask that counselors conduct themselves in a way that reflects their faith and represents Skyline in a positive way. The use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco (this includes vaping or anything that emulates smoking) is prohibited while under contract. Because the influence of a counselor is so tremendous, as part of our hiring process we look at every applicant’s social networking sites. When we are looking at your online presence, we are looking from the perspective of a camper and a parent and we expect to see you reflected in a positive light. Be sure there is nothing alluding to drinking, drugs, sex, profanity, etc. This includes and is not limited to photos, videos, groups, posts, etc. In addition, photos/videos of you and/or other people engaging in anything listed above must NOT be on your site.

Social Issues: Camp Skyline is a biological all-girls camp that strives to leave all social issues for discussion at home. This includes but is not limited to gender identity and sexual preferences.
WE WANT YOU TO KNOW:
Orientation is mandatory. These dates for summer 2025 are May 21 - May 27.

Must work two sessions.

As owners of Skyline, please let us share some of our thoughts on camp counseling with you. We would ask that you give this job application serious thought before returning it to us. Camp counseling is a full-time job that is fun to those who love children and will place their interests ahead of self in every instance. While camp is fun, applicants should consider this job as being a chance to serve youth as well as an opportunity for personal development. Parents send their children to camp because they know the positive influence a good camp experience can have on their child. They entrust their child to Skyline because they know we seek passionate young women to care for their daughter. Youth, especially young girls, are so impressionable. A Skyline camper is under the influence of the camp and its staff 24 hours a day, amidst surroundings and under conditions which make her particularly susceptible to character influences. You will serve as a mother, sister, and friend to your campers. The camp environment and all its staff members must be positive, inclusive, nurturing, and wholesome. We seek those women who want to fill this role and make a difference in a child’s life. When you join the Skyline family as a staff member, you will be among those who share the same goal of ministering to young girls. During the summer, staff members have a chance to meet in small groups for support, fellowship, and to study the Word. Our hope is that you would find not only a rewarding summer job, but strong friendships that will last long after the camp season ends. If you think you might be further interested in summer employment at Camp Skyline, please follow the application procedures below. Come with a willing spirit and servant’s heart and be prepared to have a rewarding and fun summer full of growth for both your campers and for you!

Sally and Larry Johnson, owners
