We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Media Relations Manager / Specialist to elevate our organization’s public profile through strategic media engagement and compelling storytelling. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and the media—securing podcast appearances, crafting impactful narratives, and building powerful relationships that expand our reach and influence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies to promote organizational initiatives, events, and achievements
• Research, outreach to, and secure podcast opportunities, including pitching and booking the CEO on relevant shows
• Identify and build relationships with journalists, editors, podcasters, influencers, executives, and thought leaders in the leadership and personal development space
• Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and communication materials following AP style guidelines
• Serve as a liaison for media inquiries and coordinate interviews, appearances, and press opportunities
• Represent the organization in media interactions, interviews, and public-facing opportunities when needed
• Monitor media coverage, analyze sentiment, and report on the effectiveness of outreach and publicity efforts
• Stay ahead of media trends, podcast opportunities, and industry developments
• Use AI tools to streamline outreach, tracking, analytics, and reporting
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across media and marketing channels

What You Bring

• 1–3+ years of experience in media relations, public relations, journalism, or a related field
• Proven track record of successful media placements, outreach campaigns, or podcast bookings
• Experience with podcast booking, guest outreach, or production
• Excellent writing skills with proficiency in AP style
• Strong public speaking and communication skills for interviews and presentations
• Strong research skills with the ability to gather and synthesize information quickly
• Knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT, outreach automation tools, CRM systems)
• Experience with influencer marketing, partnership development, and relationship management
• Exceptional editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Background in personal development, leadership, coaching, or online education industries is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline is preferred but not required with relevant experience
