Medicaid Coordinator-Nursing Home

Bronx, NY

Salary : $55K to $60K

DUTIES:

• Completing and filing Medicaid applications for NYC and Westchester County

  • Completing annual Medicaid recertifications
  • Completing any additional Medicaid transaction forms as needed
  • Working with Social Security to redirect income of our long term patients
  • Speaking with families and patients regarding Medicaid eligibility and required documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in Medicaid eligibility, long-term care billing, or healthcare finance

• Strong knowledge of New York Medicaid Chronic Care eligibility rules required

• Prior experience in a nursing home or long-term care setting strongly preferred

• Must have experience in HMO Billing, following up on o/s claims, patient funds.

• Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. HS diploma or GED required.

• Knowledge of state and federal nursing home guidelines

• Knowledge of how to calculate medical billing codes

• Strong working knowledge of Excel
