We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure a seamless check-in process
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature with precision and professionalism
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the visit
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments, including medication administration and minor procedures
- Operate EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems accurately to document patient encounters, medical history, ICD coding, and treatment plans
- Support clinical workflows by performing basic X-ray procedures (where qualified), collecting specimens for lab testing, and managing inventory of supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols in inpatient, outpatient, or emergency settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical practices across various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and OR (Operating Room) settings
- Experience with hospital medicine environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and coding purposes; familiarity with ICD coding is a plus
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in diverse healthcare settings including urgent care and outpatient clinics
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently while maintaining patient comfort
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols within scope of practice; understanding of emergency medicine procedures is advantageous
- Previous hospital experience or clinic experience in medical-surgical units or internal medicine enhances your candidacy
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or emergency medicine training are beneficial
