This is a solo cardiology practice looking for a medical assistant. Must be detail oriented, able to multitask, bilingual, reliable and have exceptional customer service/patient care skills. A positive attitude and team player is a must. As a medical assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to the physician and other team members. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, efficiently and effectively, with high quality and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-visit planning in anticipation of patient's visit by preparing clinical electronical charts for the doctor.
- Complete patient intake: verify patient information by interviewing patients, confirming reason of visit and documenting basic medical history, vitals and medication reconciliation.
- Perform EKG, holter monitor and stress tests
- Remote monitoring
- Prepare exam rooms by making sure room is clean and supplies are stocked
- Electronic and paper medical record maintenance, including electronic filing, faxing, scanning and uploading documents into EMR
- Assist in patient check-in and check-out, and scheduling appointments.
- Answer phones, take/forward messages
- Perform other job related duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or GED/equivalent
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) - Fluent verbal and written
- Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Minimum one to two years experience in a medical office
- An understanding of patient care, medical terminology
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Exhibit a high degree of courtesy, tact and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Excellent communication and phone etiquette
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Record systems
- Computer skills
- Must enjoy working with people
- Organized, professional, team player
- Detail oriented and self motivated
