Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with patient intake processes to ensure a seamless experience.
- Collect health insurance information and upload the health insurance card and intake form into the EHR (Practice Fusion)
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately for all patients.
- Be comfortable with blood draw and operating a centerfuge
- Able to assist with collecting labs and send them to Quest and LabCorp
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including administering medications, collecting specimens for lab testing, and ordering basic X-ray imaging when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including patient histories, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and procedure notes.
- Support the outpatient clinic by managing patient flow, updating medical records, and coordinating diagnostic tests like ultrasound or ECGs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS), medication administration standards, and infection control procedures across various specialties including geriatrics, internal medicine, or trauma centers.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient assessment and documentation.
- Experience working in family medicine clinics, emergency medicine environments or hospital settings or Geriatrics units.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for efficient record keeping and ICD coding to facilitate billing and insurance processes.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including X-ray imaging, medication administration, and vital signs measurement with precision.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across outpatient or inpatient care settings.
- Familiarity with outpatient clinic experience is a plus.
- Capable of handling intake assessments efficiently in fast-paced environments like urgent care or internal medicine clinics. Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
