Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, including collecting vital signs and updating medical histories
  • Prepare examination rooms and assist providers during patient consultations, procedures, and treatments
  • Administer medications and injections following established protocols, ensuring patient safety at all times
  • Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding and medical history update
  • Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection, processing, and maintaining sterile environments in surgical or outpatient settings

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments, with familiarity in dermatology, emergency medicine or internal medicine preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration protocols
  • Ability to take accurate vital signs and perform basic life support (BLS) certification is required
  • Experience operating EHR systems efficiently and accurately documenting patient encounters
  • Prior hospital experience including Level I or Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Center experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of ICD coding practices for billing and documentation purposes
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) patients
