PEDIATRIC MEDICAL ASSISTANT Job Description
We are willing to train an entry level candidate who wants to enter the medical field and needs experience.
This is a Monday through Friday position, no weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create a welcoming and positive environment
- Update health records and patient information
- Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments
- Answering telephone and text messages from parents and triaging their needs
- Record patient’s vital signs, medical history, confirm purpose of visit and prepare vaccinations.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the office
- Escort patients and families to and from their examination room
- Stock and sterilize examination rooms and nursing station between patients
- Assist distressed young patients during examination and treatment
- Understand the concept of a medical home and assist patients and other staff members in achieving excellence in health care promotion and maintenance for each child.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Accredited associate’s degree in applied science in medical assisting or similar knowledge. We are willing to train an entry level person looking to expand their experience in the medical field including future nurses, physician assistants or physicians.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to support and reassure pediatric patients and their families
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, follow instructions and protocols
- Ability to monitor and efficiently communicate information about a patient’s condition
- Knowledge of standard healthcare practices and medical terminology
- Dependability
- Team player
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
