Medical Assistant – Hornburg Holistics Acupuncture

Hornburg Holistics Acupuncture is a patient-centered acupuncture clinic dedicated to holistic healing and exceptional care. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team and support our practitioners in creating a seamless, relaxing patient experience.

The ideal candidate is consistent, professional, and proactive, with strong technical and interpersonal skills. They should be comfortable balancing patient interaction with maintaining a calm, supportive atmosphere, and be able to work independently once trained. This position involves assisting in treatment rooms, removing acupuncture needles, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Days/Hours
Individual shifts fall within the following windows and will only cover a portion of these hours. Staff may be scheduled on-site during these times:

• Monday: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Thursday: 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM

The Medical Assistant position may be scheduled during these times as patient volume dictates. Practice hours may change, with opportunities for additional shifts in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist in treatment rooms by carefully and professionally removing acupuncture needles (full training provided)
• Monitor patients post-treatment to ensure comfort and safety
• Maintain a calm, professional clinic environment, adjusting communication based on patient needs
• Prepare treatment rooms by stocking supplies, cleaning, and resetting between appointments
• Support patient flow to keep schedules running smoothly and reduce wait times
• Perform light administrative tasks such as documentation, scheduling assistance, and inventory checks
• Communicate effectively with practitioners to ensure seamless care
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Be available for flexible scheduling, including occasional short-notice call-ins

Requirements

• Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create a welcoming, supportive environment
• Proficiency with computers, typing, and basic technology (experience with EHR systems is a plus)
• Ability to multitask and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced setting
• Comfortable handling acupuncture needles and assisting with patient care
• Professional, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure
• Attention to detail in patient care and treatment room setup
• Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and maintaining a positive, respectful workplace environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an acupuncture, chiropractic, or holistic wellness setting
• Familiarity with medical assistant duties or patient care experience
• Basic IT knowledge or comfort troubleshooting simple technical issues
• Certification in medical assisting or holistic health practices
