Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process to ensure accurate and complete medical records.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision.
- Prepare patients for examinations by documenting medical histories and current symptoms using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures, including medication administration, and basic life support interventions when necessary.
- Support clinical workflows by managing ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures to ensure proper billing and documentation.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as specimen collection or processing tests.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing patient flow in Level I or Level II trauma centers, and updating patient records accurately.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in clinical settings such as outpatient clinics.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding practices is essential for success in this role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Familiarity with EHR systems used in hospital or clinic environments ensures efficient documentation and data management.
- Strong communication skills combined with a compassionate approach enable you to deliver outstanding patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric intensive care units (PICU).
