Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Assistant whose work will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. Duties

• Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings
• Support physicians with clinical tasks such as drawing blood, rooming patients, scanning patient records into their charts, and accurate chart documentation
• Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems to accurately document patient information, ICD coding, and treatment plans
• Conduct specimen collection, prepare samples for laboratory testing, and assist with medical procedures
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits
• Support administrative functions including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining organized medical records

Experience

• Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in hospital medicine, urgent care, outpatient clinics, or similar healthcare environments is highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with medical terminology are essential for accurate documentation
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, medication administration, and patient care protocols across specialties such as geriatrics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers is highly beneficial
• Experienced phlebotomist
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray operation or emergency medicine training are a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments such as emergency departments or surgical units
• Friendly, professional demeanor with a strong work ethic
