Medical Assistant

Come join a growing practice located the Red Mill area of Virginia Beach. We are an integrative primary care + functional medicine practice that offers care to adult and pediatric patients and seeking an experienced medical assistant to join our team.

As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for patient triage, phelebotomy services, injection/vaccine administration, obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating patient referrals, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our practitioners during medical procedures. You must be comfortable working indepedently in a fast paced setting.

You must be certified from a medical assistant program and have at least two years of prior experience in a primary care medical setting. The position is full time, no nights, weekends or holiday coverage is required. Full medical/dental benefits and paid time off is also offered. The clinic is closed to patients annually for the week between Christmas and New Years.

Medical Assistant Requirements:

• Must have certification from a medical assistant program or military medical corpsman program.
• At least two years of experience in a primary care medical office setting.
• Have a high school diploma, bachelor's degree, or equivalent.
• A robust understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope.
• Must be able to take accurate vital signs and complete lab draws/injections by the end of your first week.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Respectful + cooperative attitude.
• Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.50 per hour
