Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting current health concerns using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation to monitor patient health status accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, including basic skin assessments in dermatology or preparing for X-ray imaging and other diagnostic tests.
- Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, administering medications under supervision, and ensuring proper sterilization protocols are followed.
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), appointment scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Assist with medication administration within scope of practice and ensure proper documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, offering reassurance, and ensuring a comfortable environment for all patients across outpatient clinics or inpatient units like ICU or Geriatrics wards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology essential for effective patient care and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems, ICD coding, vital signs collection, and intake procedures.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications like X-ray operation or medication administration are highly desirable.
- Prior hospital experience including Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments is preferred; experience in emergency medicine or PICU is a plus.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices, internal medicine protocols, geriatrics care, and OR procedures enhances your ability to excel in diverse clinical settings.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
