Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Medical Assistant - Orthopedic surgery to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical office running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, strong clinical skills, and the ability to thrive in a busy and energetic setting. You will work closely with experienced providers to deliver comprehensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional care to the patients
• Performs essential and assigned daily clinical duties
• Chart preparation
• Assist during medical examinations and procedures
• Clinical intake of patient's complaint and vitals
• Casting and Splinting and DME
• Post op care, Suture/Staple removal
• Clinical patient phone calls and call triage
• Accurately document patient's health information in system
• Scribing for provider
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
• Maintains strict confidentiality
• Process prescription refills as directed by physician
• Treats co-workers, medical providers, patients, and visitors with dignity and respect
• Preparation, cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.
• Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
• Injection & Radiology authorizations
• FMLA & Disability, DWC (work comp) paperwork

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in healthcare, orthopedics preferred
• EMR experience required, ATHENA a plus
• Must be able to assist provider with Orthopedic procedures
• Attentive to detail with excellent customer service skills
• Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• BXMO preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
