Capital Women's Care is a 150+ group of OB/GYNs located throughout Greater Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support to our OB/GYN physicians and clinical staff who displays empathy and professionalism towards patients.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for verifying patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
• Responsible for collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, giving patients injections and drawing blood.
• Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding electronic and paper medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
• Informs patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about surgery.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Assist with sterilizing equipment / maintain proper working knowledge of the Autoclave.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification required.
• 2 years of medical assistant experience.
• At least 1 year of GYN experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong communication skills to effectively educate patients about their health.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care while advocating for women's health issues.

Work Schedule

• In-person
• Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
