Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and facilitate efficient patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
  • Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures, including basic medication administration and minor treatments
  • Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and ensure proper sterilization protocols are followed
  • Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently
  • Manage appointment scheduling, follow-up coordination, and patient reminders to optimize clinic flow
  • Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support clinical decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and ICD coding for accurate billing and record keeping
  • Support emergency medicine teams by providing timely assistance during urgent situations or Level I trauma responses

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and ICD coding practices
  • Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient settings with Geriatrics or Medical-surgical patients
  • Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient documentation and data management
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection, and basic medication administration confidently
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and emergency medicine patients
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification to ensure readiness for emergency situations
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as outpatient clinics
