The Certified Medical Assistant will provide patients with information and healthcare services while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor. As well as supporting our providers in various clinical and administrative areas.
Status: Travel to multiple office location as needed , potential Full Time Hours: M-F, No weekend, No holidays
Certified Medical Assistant Essential Functions:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and pulse.
- Transmits physician's orders and answers patient questions about treatments.
- Diligent in maintaining patient confidence by keeping patient information secure while ensuring completion of confidential medical records.
- Retrieves necessary medical records from other facilities and primary care providers.
- Completes accurate diagnostic and procedure coding.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following the Americare Kidney standards and procedures as well as complying with all legal regulations.
- Ensures supply inventory is stocked, places orders as needed and verifies receipt.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining certifications and staying proficient in eClinical Works.
- Serves and protects the Nephrologist practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Travels to multiple office locations routinely
- Flexibility in regards to work schedule
- Performs various other tasks as assigned
Certified Medical Assistant Skills and Qualifications: Certification required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
- Graduate of Medical Assisting Program.
- Effective verbal communication
- High level of professionalism
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred.
- Patient scheduling abilities
- Infection control
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Maintain a high professional level of confidentiality
- Dedicated team player who is dependable and willing to assist in any way possible
