Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical procedures, and administrative support within diverse clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient services across outpatient, inpatient, and specialized medical environments, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and emergency medicine. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations while delivering compassionate care to patients.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with precision.
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to uphold strict infection control standards.
- Support physicians during procedures by handing instruments, preparing supplies, and managing documentation.
- Administer medications or injections under supervision while adhering to safety protocols and medication administration guidelines.
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information, diagnoses (ICD coding), and treatment plans.
- Conduct basic diagnostic procedures such as X-ray imaging or assisting with laboratory tests in compliance with clinical protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Support hospital-based teams with inpatient care activities or Level I/II trauma center procedures when necessary.
- Assist in managing emergency situations within urgent care or emergency medicine settings by following established protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics, hospitals, or specialized environments such as dermatology or internal medicine is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to diverse specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics (PICU), or surgical settings like OR experience.
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding for accurate documentation.
- Experience supporting hospital medicine units or Level I/II trauma centers enhances suitability for this role.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and basic life support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous involvement in medical-surgical units or outpatient clinics demonstrates adaptability across various healthcare settings.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
