Mandatory Requirements:
Consultant shall possess a current certificate of completion from a certified Medical Assistant training program for all Medical Assistants (MA) assigned to this contract.
Additionally, Consultant must demonstrate prior experience working in the healthcare field. A copy of the certificate of completion shall be submitted as part of the solicitation response and as needed throughout the term of a resultant contract.
Consultant shall possess a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, record of Hepatitis B and MMR immunizations, tuberculosis (TB) skin test, TB blood test or chest X-Ray from the last twelve (12) months. Because funding for this contract may originate from federal grants, Consultant shall maintain current registration in the federal System of Award Management (SAM) and obtain a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number.
Consultant shall pass a seven (7) year comprehensive background check, and the County shall be the final judge about whether a Consultant may be assigned to a contract based on the results of said background check. A copy of the Consultant's comprehensive background check shall be presented to the County prior to contract execution.
Medical Assistant (MA) Requirements
a. Provide information and assistance to clients, assist customers with applications, government forms, and other documents
b. Review applications and other documents for compliance with rules and regulations.
c. Review and update files and distribute related paperwork and maintain records and filing systems.
d. Answer incoming phone calls and direct callers to the correct person or work group and take messages and relays as necessary.
e. Perform cashier duties in accordance with standard office procedures and County policies, receive and record payments, prepare and issue receipts, and balance daily work and monies received.
f. Provide educational material and personalized information to clients during pre-screening procedures.
g. Assist providers with patient care, obtain vital signs, collect and document medical histories, and perform sexually transmitted infection (STI) screenings and pregnancy tests under provider supervision.
h. Assist clients to access other healthcare and community services programs.
i. Assist professional staff with clinic setup and patient examinations as directed.
