Job description:
Responsible for, but not limited to, assisting the physicians in the exam rooms, escorting and assisting patients within the center, setting up and maintaining the exam rooms in a readiness state for patients, and monitoring supplies and equipment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check lab boxes outside the office every morning to ensure the samples were picked up and verify if the lab left any results.

Participate actively during daily huddles.

Escorts the patient to and from the exam room and assists the patient in necessary preparation for the physician visit

Confirms that Insurance Verification is documented

Assists with the examination of the patient, as directed by the medical provider

Responsible for taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing procedures (EKG, Spirometry, etc.)

Use all Quality Assurance instruments as a reference and as directed by the medical provider.

Make use of the Quality Assurance instrument to keep track of healthcare maintenance activities.

Responsible for transmitting order information to the labs, logging receipt of results, and distributing lab results to the appropriate medical provider

Maintains the exam room between patient and physician use to ensure readiness for the next patient

Maintains other areas of the facility as directed

Responsible for the ordering, restocking, and maintenance of supplies, vaccines, and equipment used in exam rooms and restrooms

Responsible for disinfecting and cleaning medical equipment (Blood pressure monitors, EKG machines, otoscopes, etc.)

Maintains all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, Vaccine distribution, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)

Performs the duties of the receptionist as directed by the Office Manager or Medical Director

Responsible for assuring that restrooms and waste cans are clean

Facility inspection: ensure that lab samples are prepared and taken out, no samples or vaccines are left in exam rooms, and sanitize the lab room sink and counter

Medical Assistants are required to participate in staff and Quality Assurance meetings.

All staff are required to report Quality Assurance issues to the Administrator at any time
-
