Position Overview

Memory Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing memory care and neurology team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients experiencing memory loss, cognitive concerns, and neurodegenerative conditions in a supportive, team-based environment.

We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients and families, takes pride in delivering excellent care, and is eager to learn specialized cognitive assessment skills. Prior neurology or memory care experience is not required—we provide comprehensive training.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
• Obtain and document vital signs
• Perform medication reconciliation and update medical histories
• Review and update patient demographics and pharmacy information
• Assist with patient intake and visit preparation
• Perform additional neurocognitive screening assessments (training provided)
• Assist providers with clinical workflows and patient coordination
• Facilitate referrals, records requests, and follow-up care as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Support patients and caregivers with education and resources
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and administrative staff to provide exceptional patient care
• Administer and document cognitive screening tools, including:
• MMSE
• MoCA
• FAQ
• FAST

Qualifications Required

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered demeanor
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Comfortable working with older adults and caregivers
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer skills

Preferred

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
• Neurology, geriatrics, primary care, or memory care experience (not required)
• Experience administering cognitive assessments (not required)
