Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various medical settings, including medical-surgical, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and urgent care. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
• Record patient histories and vital signs accurately.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments and referrals.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
• Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.

Skills

• Proficient understanding of medical-surgical practices and protocols.
• Experience in internal medicine and emergency medicine settings is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with the operations of a Level I Trauma Center or PICU is a plus.
• Knowledge of outpatient procedures in urgent care environments.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a clinical setting.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively within various systems to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care while ensuring patient safety at all times.
