Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, clinical support, knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and experience in medical settings such as and clinics. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients while assisting healthcare professionals in delivering effective treatment.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, EKG/EEG and document medical histories.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform venipuncture, collect and process specimens.
- Perform general procedure set up and preparation.
- Perform basic coding for patient records and billing purposes.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up communications with patients.
- Support the clinical team in various departments including Inpatient care and Dermatology.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols within a Level I Trauma Center environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential.
- Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to multi task throughout the work day
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or relevant training is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in performing injections, phlebotomy, medical office background is highly desirable..
- Will be required to travel to other clinic locations (on and off island) as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
