Medical Assistant

Position Summary
As a Medical Assistant in our practice, you will serve as a champion of patient care and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare. Responsibilities range from patient intake and charting to assisting providers with examinations, treatments, and procedures. The Medical Assistant also helps ensure a safe, efficient, and positive experience for every patient.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection of patient and family health information according to practice protocols
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs, height, weight, and reason for visit
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Assist providers during treatments, examinations, and testing within scope of practice
- Administer medications and immunizations as directed by the physician and according to practice protocols
- Document administration of medications and immunizations in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Apply splints, dressings, and bandages as needed
- Perform EKGs
- Conduct point-of-care testing and specimen collection, including COVID-19, Influenza, RSV, Strep, fingerstick A1C, and other in-office diagnostic tests
- Contact patients regarding test results, medication refill requests, and provider recommendations
- Provide provider-directed patient education, instructions, and follow-up information
- Accurately document test results and patient communications in the EMR
- Maintain exam and treatment rooms, supplies, and equipment
- Deliver outstanding patient care with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including a required start time of 6:45 AM
Compensation
Compensation is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
