The Certified Medical Assistant is a seasoned clinical assistant who is responsible for preparing the patient for the office visit with the physician. The Certified Medical Assistant gathers and documents the appropriate information to assist the physician and/or nurse in the care of the patients. The Certified Medical Assistant has specialty specific knowledge of medications, including administration, interactions, and dosing. The Certified Medical Assistant has an understanding of specialty specific anatomy.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent or 2 years of appropriate work experience.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required: American Association of Medical Assistants - Certified Medical Assistant OR National Health Career Association - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant OR
Required: Certified Medical Assistant - NPCE OR
Required: American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Health Care Provider OR
Required: Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
