Medical Assistant Part Time (Bilingual Spanish or Chinese)

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with a passion for primary care to join our growing team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be using your professional skills to help patients with a wide range of medical issues and concerns. You will also be responsible for maintaining office records, maintaining medical instruments and assisting other members of the medical team. We are looking for professionals who are in it for the long haul and would like to hire someone who is committed to fast paced office environment and has a genuine interest in helping people.

Responsibilities:

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
• Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.
• Perform blood draws
• Administration of injections and vaccines
• Room prep for pre-ops and physical exams
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean
• Stock medical providers treatment rooms with products and supplies at least once daily
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, and physicians' instructions to patients
• Set up medical laboratory equipment
• Authorize drug refills and provider prescription information to pharmacies
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
• Inventory and order medical, lab, and office supplies and equipment
• Follow operational policies and procedures
• Assist medical providers with patients, handing them instruments and materials for performing tasks
• Assist patients with language barrier by translating for staff and medical providers
• Performs Medical Assistant duties and clerical duties as assigned
• Travel to other GHC’s Clinics within a 3-mile radius if coverage is needed

Requirements:
- MA certificate
- BLS: active
- Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
