General Summary of Duties

This part-time Medical Assistant position involves providing professional, compassionate, and efficient clinical support in a gastroenterology practice. You will assist with patient care, coordinate clinical workflows, and learn essential medical office skills. No MA certification is required.

Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • No MA certification needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to interact professionally with a diverse patient population
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient typing ability
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks EMR preferred but not required
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and eagerness to learn
  • No phlebotomy experience needed (we do not draw blood in the office)

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients, obtaining chief complaint, vital signs, and medical history
  • Maintaining clean, organized exam rooms and ensuring adequate supplies
  • Preparing equipment and assisting the physician during examinations and in-office procedures
  • Educating patients and families about diagnostic tests and preparation
  • Maintaining and reviewing patient charts and related documentation
  • Entering orders for labs, imaging, and procedures under physician supervision
  • Assisting with referrals, scheduling, prescription processing, and follow-up communication
  • Manage patient calls related to treatment and instructions
  • Maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting patient confidentiality
  • Handling some administrative tasks as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
